• The char data type is a single 16-bit Unicode character.
  • The minimum value is ‘\u0000’ (or 0).
  • The maximum value is ‘\uffff’ (or 65,535 inclusive).
  • The char data type can be used to store any character, eg: upper or lower case letters, digits, control characters, special characters, foreign language characters.
  • Example: char letterA =’A’
